2008 Recipe Contest – Carnival Of RecipesInternational Recipe ContestThe ongoing 2008 WOW! recipe contest winner for this week is included in this Recipe Carnival. The weekly Recipe Carnival is hosted at different sites each week. Visit the sites of the contributors and learn more about healthy living. The theme for being posted in this week’s recipe carnival is the same as the all-the-time WOW! theme that is fun, fast and healthy. I am hosting the carnival this week as part of our ongoing 2008 International WOW! Recipe Contest. Submit your fun, fast and healthy recipes for the upcoming week’s contest. More on the recipe contest I thought we would open not with a recipe but a book review on the book Eat This Not That. It is an informative review on an eye opening book. Roger Baillargeon at The Book Reviewer Fan Club Shawn, the organizer of the Recipe Carnival submitted this healthy recipe for Baked Chicken Fajitas. Go for whole grain flour tortillas and you have it made. Everything And/But Nothin Any Sweet and Sour Pork recipe can also be made with turkey. When you use dark meat turkey your family won’t even know it is not pork. Bobby at Blog Chef.net submitted this yummy recipe. A Key Lime Pie provided by Amy Allen Clark has oatmeal in the crust to give it some whole grain goodness. Get whole grain graham crackers at your local health food store to give this awesome recipe more nutrition for dessert. This is a fast dessert recipe that includes all real food! (don’t put the food color in!) I would have picked this recipe for the International Recipe contest winner for the week, except that Amy links into another site for the recipes. I am definitely going to make this one. The Motherload Stephanie at Stop The Ride submitted a great recipe for Black Bean Salsa. Add legumes to your daily diet for fiber and more! Nuts! Nuts belong on your daily menu too. I like this take on making your own Nut Butter. It doesn’t always have to be peanut (not really a nut) butter, you know! A New Old-Fashioned Gal, Becca Ribbing of Alexandra, Virginia won the weekly recipe contest. This is an ongoing event. (Not necessarily every week.) After we have 8 winners, we will pick the grand prize winners. Weekly winners are picked based on fun, fast, healthy criteria without testing the recipes. The 2008 International WOW Recipe Contest weekly winners receive a CD recording of a radio interview that I participated in. All the recipes will be prepared, tested and then the grand prize winner for the year will win the entire Wow! You Are Really Lucky… CD set which is a diet and healthy living program. ($97 value) If you would like to enter, just send me an email with your recipe and a little bit about yourself. Thanks, Deb
