Healthy Basil Pesto Turkey Burger Recipe

A fun, fast and healthy recipe, these pesto turkey burgers can be made in minutes.

Pesto Turkey Burger Recipe

1 Lb. ground turkey
1 cup black beans (or any canned bean)-washed and drained
2 egg whites
1/3 cup basil pesto in a jar
bread crumbs optional

  1. Combine all ingredients gently and form patties.
  2. Grill or cook in skillet until done.

Depending on the ground turkey your pesto turkey burgers may be a bit wet. If you want to ‘bind’ them a little add whole wheat bread crumbs.

Make Or Buy Basil Pesto

You can make your own pesto if you prefer by combining basil, pine nuts, garlic,  olive oil, black pepper and Parmesan cheese in the food processor.

Good quality pesto can be purchased in most grocery stores. Check your ingredient list and be sure that the only items in it are: pine nuts, basil, garlic, oil, pepper and cheese.
