Nine Ways To Naturally Prevent Cancer

I was recently cruising the internet and ran across the American Cancer Research Institute’s website. I presented the Debbie Banana children’s assembly to the National Cancer Research Institute’s “Bring Your Children to Work Day” last year and am doing so again this summer. I thought it was the same organization so I stopped to read a couple of articles before surfing through.

American Cancer Research Institute

The ACRI says that there are specific things you can do to reduce your chances of cancer. They have reviewed over 70,000 studies and found these ways to naturally reduce your chance of cancer:

  1. Don’t smoke or use tobacco products.
  2. Be as lean as possible within normal body range.
  3. Be physically active as a part of your everyday life.
  4. Limit intake of energy-dense foods (high sugar and refined carbs).
  5. Eat plant-based foods as the majority of your food intake.
  6. Limit red meat and processed meats.
  7. Limit alcohol consumption.
  8. Limit consumption of salt.
  9. Make your goal to meet your nutritional requirements from your foods naturally and use supplements as an added insurance.

This seems pretty simple. Basically, they are saying that you should eat natural, fresh foods. Your diet should be predominantly fruits and veggies and you should limit the consumption of red meats.
