Hazards Of Plastics For You And The FuturePlastic – Safe?Plastic is everywhere. If you live in the United States, you certainly cannot avoid plastic. From plastic wrap, containers, chairs, garbage bags, water bottles, food containers, carpeting, you name it, it is everywhere. Plastics are finally coming under scrutiny, both environmentally and from a health standpoint, at a consumer level. The hazards of plastics have long been known and have only lately been discussed or reported on. Studies Show Plastic Not Safe – CancerPlastics are an environmental concern during both manufacture and disposal. Dioxins and other toxins are released into the air during the manufacturing process. Many plastics are not recyclable and they leach the same toxins into the soil of our landfills after disposal. Now the latest studies show (as do prior studies) that plastics leach into our food, our water and our bodies as well, and are causing a variety of health hazards. Hormonal disruption, sperm reduction, cancer, and increased susceptibility to diabetes are just a few of the health concerns that are being attributed to plastics. Safe Plastic Bottles

Hey Deb, Here is a link to an eye openning article that gives a ton more reasons to avoid and reduce the amount of plastic we use. The Plastic Ocean articlewill make you sick…I had to read it in several sessions.
