Eat Breakfast To Lose Weight

Don’t Skip Breakfast When Dieting

The biggest mistake most dieters make is skipping breakfast! I am sure you have heard the saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and yet how many people take that to heart. Eat Breakfast To Lose WeightThe reason that this old saying is true is indicated by the word itself: Breakfast means to break the fast. When we are sleeping we are fasting for up to 8 hours. Our bodies are still operating on the clock created a few thousand years ago. If a caveman or cavewoman did not eat for several hours, his or her body thought a famine or some other threat was near and immediately began storing fat for the future.  Our bodies still do the same thing, store fat in expectation of an emergency.   When we do not eat for more than three hours, our bodies begin to store fat. When you skip breakfast, you are making it more difficult to lose weight or maintain an ideal weight because your body’s natural tendency is to go into the storage mode. Skipping breakfast is sabotaging your ability to lose weight.

Breakfast Boosts Metabolism

Eating a well-balanced breakfast will break the fast and boost the metabolism. Some of the benefits of a higher metabolism include better thought patterns, more energy, fewer food cravings, and burning more calories, to name only a few. Studies show that children who eat a balanced breakfast do better in tests in school.
