Kahlua Banana Crisp
I know this is not the best picture but the vultures would not stay back long enough for me to get a shot before it was devoured!
These ingredients are guidelines!
The number of bananas, the type of flour, the amount of sugar and the liquor is all flexible and open for adjustments!
¼ cup unsalted butter
½ – ¾ cup brown sugar
4 medium bananas – sliced 1/4-inch thick
2 Tbs Kahlua
2/3 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup old fashioned oats
½ cup nuts, chopped
- Melt butter into bottom of baking dish and swirl to coat.
- Scatter bananas into dish and pour bourbon over the top. Give one or two quick stirs to distribute.
- Add all other ingredients and toss.
- Bake at 400 degrees until golden and bubbly, about 30 minutes.
If your bananas are over ripe start with less sugar and/or Kahlua.
A ripe banana is sweeter and also wetter so just play around with your recipe. What ever you do your family or guests will love it. The carmelized bananas are awesome!
