How will I benefit from losing weight?

The first idea that most likely comes to our minds after such a question is “looking thinner”. And in the 21th century “looking thin” also means “looking better”. Why? Probably because this is the new trend! The world changes and styles, expectations, ideology changes together with it. As striking as it may seem, obesity wasn’t a burden for anybody during the renaissance. The obese woman was in fact the embodiment of the ideal beauty. Anyone thin was considered weak and sickly.

Being obese doesn’t necessarily mean being unhealthy. There are a lot of possible diseases caused by it. So losing weight can be very beneficial for your health, because it helps to prevent the frequent, dangerous types of sickness. For instance, if you maintain a healthy weight you can decrease the chances of heart disease. Obese individuals expose themselves to the risk of a heart attack, angina or other kinds of heart disorders. They also tend to have a higher blood pressure than a person with average weight. So just think about it, when you lose only 5% to 15% of weight, you can diminish the chances of having a stroke.
By keeping your body in shape you will also reduce the danger of diabetes. In turn if you can’t manage to lose weight you will double the chances of developing it. Research shows that almost 90% of people who have diabetes are obese. An increase of physical activity will very likely help prevent such a risk.

Some types of cancer can mean a very great deal of risk when you are overweight. These types include prostrate, kidney, endometrial, gallbladder, and colon and breast cancers, all the more reasons you have to watch your weight.
Sleep apnea can also appear at obese people. This disease manifests in heavy breathing while one’s asleep. Scientists have studied the case and shown that the minute somebody loses weight, symptoms of the disease start to drop.

If these examples haven’t convinced you to start thinking of a healthier lifestyle think about arthritis caused by the excess weight on the bones, or the complications obesity can cause during childbirth. Extra weight may cause the death of both the mother and the child. It may also cause depression.
No wonder, “thin” means “healthy” today. Now that you are familiar with the dangers obesity can bring, you can start thinking of a low carb diet. Lots of methods can help you map how many pounds you have to lose to reach a healthy weight. For example, you can use a bmi calculator, a daily calorie counter and even slimming pills if you wish. It is up to you, but don’t forget to ask for your doctor’s opinion in every step you take.

Cookie Diet May Match Your Personality

I recently ran across a survey to determine what the best diet was for me and thought it was a big scam. After looking over the questions and thinking more about it I realized that we all have different personalities and there for different diet needs. If you have failed at a wide variety of diet programs then maybe you need to look closer at the types of diets you have tried and what part of them did not fit into your personality. An obvious example might be a diet that requires high consumption of protein would not be very good for a vegetarian. A not so obvious example is if your personality is big on eating cookie type snacks or just snacking in general then maybe you need to look into meal replacements that have good value for your body yet fill your mental needs for cookies and snacks.

The Cookie Diet

A diet that I recently looked at is the Cookie Diet. It is a diet program that has proven to be safe and effective using meal replacements that are cookies. Now on first glance one might not consider cookies a diet food yet The Cookie Diet has helped many people to lose weight because it matched their personality perfectly. Everyone has a different personality and therefore sometimes looking for a diet that matches your personality may do the trick when other diets have not. The Cookie Diet may be what you need to get the transformation you are looking for!
